Technical SEO audits and keyword research, on your own Mac
With serpwell you crawl a website, find its SEO issues and turn them into a clear action plan. It runs on your computer, and your audits, keyword research and sign-ins stay there.
What it does
- Crawls websites politely, following robots.txt, and can read pages that need JavaScript. Crawls can be paused and resumed.
- Runs 96 SEO checks covering broken pages and redirects, canonicals, indexing, titles and descriptions, headings, internal links, orphan pages, sitemaps, structured data, images, language tags, duplicate and thin content, and readability.
- Gives each site a health score from 0 to 100 and shows what changed since the last crawl.
- Builds an action plan with one action per type of issue, its impact and effort, step-by-step fixes for Webflow, WordPress, Shopify, Wix and Squarespace, and the pages affected. You can re-check a fix page by page.
- Compares crawls so you can see progress over time.
- Exports everything as CSV, Excel or JSON, plus a full audit workbook, a handoff for developers and PDF reports for clients in English and Spanish.
- Does keyword research with your own DataForSEO account: keyword ideas, the keywords a domain ranks for, competitor gaps, live search results, keyword lists and clusters, matched to the pages you crawled.
- Connects optional services: page speed and Core Web Vitals from Google PageSpeed, Google Search Console and Google Analytics, and AI suggestions with your own key for Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok or a compatible service.
- Backs up every day to a folder you pick or to Google Drive, with optional password protection.
- Works with automations through a local API and webhooks for tools like n8n and AI agents.
Google data serpwell reads, and why
Connecting Google is optional. You connect a Google account yourself, for one client at a time or for backups, and you can disconnect it at any time. Only the access listed here is requested.
| Google service | What serpwell reads | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Google Search Console (read-only) | Your list of Search Console properties, and for the property you pick: search queries, positions, clicks, impressions and pages. | To show how a client's site performs in Google search next to its audit, so you can see which issues matter most. |
| Google Analytics (read-only) | Your list of Analytics properties, and traffic data for the property you pick. | To show how many visits a client's pages get, so fixes on busy pages can come first. |
| Google Drive (only files serpwell creates) | Only the backup folder and backup files serpwell creates itself. It cannot see any other file in your Drive. | To save your daily backups to Drive and move old backups to the Drive bin on the schedule you choose. |
| Your Google email address | The email address of the account you connect. | To show which Google account is connected. |
The app never changes anything in Search Console or Google Analytics, never sells or shares your Google data, and never uses it for advertising. Read the privacy policy for the details.
